Chapter 1475
If that was the case, she would never want to hand herself over even if she was madly in love, not to mention how she merely had subtle feelings for him! She would never agree to it no matter what the truth turned out to be, a selfless sacrifice without expecting anything in return after devoting her all, or if he intended to live in the present regardless of the consequences. She had to admit that she was petty and selfish, and had always held onto the belief that there had to be a return after she had put in all her efforts. If they couldn't end up together after they had tried their best, she would admit defeat. On the other hand, she would not do anything if she knew that everything wasn't going to work out. She had already experienced the pain and didn't wish to experience the agony once
more.
Though she said so, she couldn't help falling for him. Right that Instant, her mind wandered around.
His heart tensed, to which Wyatt realized that he had once again made a mistake. Raising his hand, he pulled her into his embrace and gently hugged her without breaking the rules, and even kept a distance from her.
"Waverly, I want you, it's true! It has nothing to do with your identity, and I don't mean to look down on you. It's the kind of feelings a man would have towards a woman..."
The kind of deep, instinctive desire!
"Do you understand?"
In the past, he had never come to realize that he had such awful self-control. He was well aware of the fact that a deeply in love couple should go with the flow.. He had calmed down over the years being in a relationship with Raynee and no longer had the urge to restrain himself every time they met. Since the first time he shared an intimate relationship with Waverly, however, he had lost all self-control as though he was possessed by vermin once he caught sight of her. Nothing was left on his mind other than the thought to yearn for her every minute and second!
Right then, Wyatt could sense how he was controlled by lust. What had happened that night was a thorn in her heart, and smelling the faint scent of alcohol on her in her attempt to protect him, his heart ached for her.
He was the one that failed to handle it all well. He was the one that had been too anxious and desperate. He had not done enough, the reason behind her grievances and inferiority!
Stroking her soft silky hair, Wyatt planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Cheer up, will you? Let's just say that I said the wrong thing, can we?"
He shouldn't have brought her to the banquet that night!
Right then, Wyatt felt regretful. He had taken too little into consideration. Little would he expect Waverly to come into contact with the woman for the first time and for troubles to arise for no reason.
"At most, I'll never..." His words trailed off. "Force you into doing that again!" was what he had meant to say.
When the words were at the tip of his tongue, Wyatt paused. Deep down, he enjoyed it a lot and yearned for it! He knew that he would lose everything if the words were to leave his mouth.
Raising his gaze to meet her eyes, he hesitated. From his flinching eyes, Waverly could vaguely guess what he had wanted to say. On the contrary, her eyes flared with aggressiveness and enthusiasm. She pursed her lips and said in an aggrieved tone,
"Look. You're lying to me, aren't you? You can't continue making up the lie, can you?"
His mind went blank for two seconds. Lowering his head, Wyatt firmly kissed his lips onto hers before taking advantage of her dazed moment to recover his train of thoughts.
"I won't bully you young widow in the future! Shall I bully you only after you've given me your permission?"
It was a question in return, but there hid a firm tone. In other words, he meant to say, "I'll bully you sooner or later!
"Puff!" Waverly couldn't help laughing out loud. "After saying that much, you're better off without saying anything!"
"Pity him!"
It was then Wyatt saw a pair of eyes rolled at him. "What a pervert!" Waverly muttered under her breath.
Her captivating smile was comparable to hundred flowers blooming and countless birds gliding across the sky. Ravishly beautiful, it seemed as though everything around her lost its color. Wyatt's eyes fixed on her beautiful face, unblinking. "Are you smiling?"
She was so breathtakingly gorgeous when she smiled!
Unknowingly, Waverly bit her lips in embarrassment. How could she be in the mood to smile?
Although she was biting her lips, she failed to conceal her emotions with her smile overflowing from the bottom of her eyes.
Wyatt could not help but kiss her once again.
On that day, the two passionately made out in the car for nearly an hour before sending her home. When they got out of the car, Waverly's lips dripped blood with her hair disheveled...
As expected, the news of the two occupied the headlines of all major entertainment ultrafine the next day, causing a stir in everyone's feed.
Not knowing whether it was on purpose, there were only pictures of Wyatt himself or a photo of his side profile published. In short, not only her appearance, but there were also different descriptions of her identity. Some claimed her to be the Black Widow, and some said that she was the new mistress, while some assumed she was the woman Wyatt had auctioned for at a high price.
In short, she, a beauty with quite a messy romantic life, caused Wyatt, who had always been low-key in his private life, with no choice but to reveal his relationship to the public. She was considered to be one that could stir men into doing anything for her!
Scrolling through the news, Waverly didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Since it didn't affect her life, she wasn't the slightest bothered.
On the other hand, Wyatt's office had erupted in a mess. First, his mother called to indirectly question him on his relationship before Olivia's voice came blasting through the phone. Rubbing his temples, Wyatt's head throbbed. The moment the woman's voice stopped, he went straight to the point.
"Olivia, don't get involved in this! Give me the chance to make my own decisions in life!"noveldrama
It was the first time he didn't try to avoid nor fool the topic over. His tone was so sharp that it revealed a clear warning. On the other side, Olivia's eyebrows were twisted into a deep frown.
With him being their biological
younger brother, the three sisters
had a grasp of Wyatt' s temper since they had witnessed his growth. He had always been obedient towards them, but since he could shoulder the responsibility of being in charge of their family organization, he wasn't one to be trifled with!
Her heart skipped a beat when she sensed his seriousness. "Wyatt, do you know who you've chosen? Take a look at yourself. Are you the same as you were?"
His reputation was ruined. Did Wyatt understand how he was viewed right then?
Right then, it was the peak of his career. In the past, he was mysterious and low- key, a young and promising lad. Right then, however, he was considered to be a typical son of an affluent family, greedy for women and wasteful in spending money. He was arrogant with all vicious labels tagged onto him!
In short, Olivia was deeply displeased at the thought. To her, it was the young widow who had inflicted him and led him astray!
"Don't you think I seem to be more of a human being? A young man who doesn't act recklessly has never experienced youth!"
In the past, he seemed to be too well-behaved. On one hand, he was well aware
of the fact that he had a huge burden to shoulder since he was a child, so he had always practiced self-restraint. Besides, it was probably because he had not met a person or thing that could drive him so crazy and impulsive!
With his finger tapping the table, Wyatt thought, "This feels great!"
He did not slack off whenever it came to official matters since he knew he had the ability to shape his future. As for his personal life, he did not allow anyone to interfere, even if it was the family he cared about the most!
After all, his attitude towards Waverly was different from when he had signed the contract. It was why Wyatt's attitude revealed his determination and firmness.
His words rendered Olivia speechless. Vaguely, she understood that as they hadn't been able to nip his thoughts in the bud, they could do nothing since his desire had sprouted.
"Fine, since you' re now grown up and independent, aren't you! If I had known, I would have asked you to wait for Raynee's return.”
Although she wasn't too superstitious, she felt uncomfortable at the thought of Waverly's reputation, not to mention how she was subconsciously worried about the Johnson Family and Wyatt, her only brother.
Olivia sighed, declaring her helplessness. She had to compromise by saying, "You have a long way to go. Don't focus on your love..."
"And end up failing in your career!" She didn't get the words out of her mouth.
Although it was a reminder, she came to realize that his feelings for Raynee that had preserved for years vanished upon second thought. They knew nothing about whether the woman would enter the Johnson Family. Had they been too paranoid and lost their sense of propriety?
"Were they pushing him too hard, stimulating him to rebel?"
After all, he was no longer the innocent little boy who looked up to them. In other words, he was used to being superior, so how could they stop him?
Well, they had to think of a change in strategy!
That was right. Why would they try to dampen his enthusiasm when he was, right then, in high spirits? Should they go along with him for the time being?
"I understand. I'll make sure to distinguish my private life from work. The two won' t intersect!"
"Fine..."
Without saying anything more, Olivia hung up the phone and turned to persuade her family, completely shifting the entire Johnson Family's stance as a result of the phone call. All the prearranged blind dates had to be canceled, while the plan for Raynee to return to the country as soon as possible had come to an end...
On the other side, Raynee received
the news and learned about everything from a friend's comforting call. She was so embarrassed that she was at a loss for words. Never would she have
expected Quill to recklessly Se
ahead and get even with Wyatt, nor had she expected Wyatt to
announce the breakup ac
by himself.
All media outlets grasped the opportunity to make headlines. Although her name wasn't mentioned, the huge title pointed out the fact that "He admitted that he is now single and has broken up with
his partner".
The piece of paper implied that all efforts she made in the past were in vain. Staring at the article in hand, Raynee was on the verge of going insane. Quill Lewis! Quill Lewis! Not only did he not succeed, but he had also made a mess. What was the point of him meddling in other people's business?
He had forced Wyatt into announcing the breakup to retain his dignity. What should she do in the future?
Picking up the phone, Raynee first dialed Quill's number and gave him a hard scolding before she hung up without giving him a chance to explain. Immediately after, she called Wyatt.
"Wyatt, why should you humiliate me this way? What did I do wrong for you to
announce the breakup without me knowing anything? Do you know how embarrassing it was for me to be kept in the dark when my friend's phone call came over?"
"How were you possessed to do such a thing to me just for the sake of a young
widow?"
"In your heart, am I not comparable to a notorious widow?"
What do you think?
