Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 1033: The Trump Card

Tina nodded.

The fact that Mr. Havenhart had unearthed this blueprint likely meant he had also sensed something unusual.

Lowering her head, she studied the marked red dots on the map, her finger landing on the most prominent spot. She turned to Cole Lyon and asked, "What's this place?"

Cole Lyon immediately recognized it. Lifting his head, he replied, "Serena, this is where we last discovered the gold and silver jewelry. We've already combed through it once and found nothing suspicious."

Tina continued examining the map. The points marked by Mr. Havenhart were mostly in deep underground basements or peculiar spots in the yard, like artificial hills and pavilions.

But one location stood out to her as particularly suspicious.

She pointed it out to Cole Lyon, but he couldn't immediately recognize where it was.

Jared squinted slightly, speaking slowly, "Judging by the layout, this spot should belong to the main building. The innermost section should be the study."

The group soon found themselves standing in front of a deep crimson, antique door. The lock was merely decorative to them.

The furnishings within the study remained untouched. With the early construction blueprints in hand, locating the hidden room inside wasn't too difficult.

The real challenge was the key to open it.

The lock required a matching fingerprint to activate.

The security level was high, and Cole Lyon didn't dare act recklessly, fearing it might trigger an explosive device.

Tina stepped closer with the equipment in hand. Just as she was about to take action, a concealed weapon suddenly came flying through the window, aimed directly at her temple with lethal intent.

Glass shattered across the floor, but Tina stood completely still.

Before anyone could react, Jared moved. At the same time, Tina focused her energy, creating a barrier that deflected the threat effortlessly.

Looking up, she spotted a figure on the distant rooftop dressed in black. In the blink of an eye, the figure vanished.

Tina's gaze turned icy.

In that moment, she hadn't sensed any presence from the other side.

Hayden's face darkened. Watching the direction where the figure disappeared, he leaped off the balcony. "Serena, Jared, stay here. I'll go after him!"

Courtney and Cole Lyon quickly stepped in front of Tina, clearly shaken by the unexpected attack. Neither of them had detected the intruder's presence.

Jared's eyes were as cold as ice. "A death squad."

Tina didn't respond but added calmly, "And not just one."noveldrama

As soon as she spoke, several more concealed weapons came hurtling from different directions. In an instant, the area in front of the window was engulfed in darkness.

Dozens of black-clad assassins appeared simultaneously, their primary targets being Jared and Tina.

Their movements were so swift that even Courtney and Cole Lyon, standing in front of Tina, couldn't react in time. The next moment, a powerful energy wave erupted behind them, enveloping the deadly weapons midair.

The sharp tips of the weapons glowed with a faint blue hue-poisonous, as Cole Lyon immediately recognized.

These attackers weren't just after their lives-they wanted to wipe them all out.

Jared unleashed over seventy percent of his energy, the sheer force causing tremors throughout the area.

Unlike ordinary assassins, these death squad members had been chemically altered, their bodies completely controlled by drugs. Once given a mission, they wouldn't stop until their last breath.

The commotion quickly drew reinforcements from the Swanson family stationed nearby.

Even with their combined abilities, the black-clad assailants couldn't withstand the onslaught of Jared's powers. Within just a few exchanges, their internal organs were shattered, leaving them coughing up blood.

As more members of the Mountain Veil Order arrived, they prepared to capture the attackers alive. But before they could act, the assassins killed themselves without hesitation.

In mere moments, the scene was eerily silent, leaving no trace of life behind.

Tina's eyes remained cold as she watched it all.

After hiding for so long, Claudia finally couldn't resist making her move.

These death squad members must have been her last resort. But the timing of their appearance...

A thought flashed through Tina's mind. She immediately instructed, "Cole, check where

the Swanson family has been breached."

Cole Lyon quickly realized the implication and rushed out with his men.

Ten minutes later, he returned, his face dark. "Serena, the basement under the back villa has been blown open. It's empty. We fell for their diversion."

He had been stationed here for so long, yet he hadn't discovered the hidden double- layered basement beneath the original one.

The real objective had to be hidden there.

Jared recalled the marks on the blueprint. "The original basement wasn't very large. The added space could only have been known to Orion Woodwind and Claudia."

Tina smirked coldly. "Perhaps only one person knew."

Claudia, a woman with a superiority complex, would never share her secrets with anyone else.

Whatever she had risked exposing her trump card for must have been incredibly valuable.

Cole Lyon looked dejected. "Serena, should we move to another location to investigate?"

Tina raised an eyebrow. "We haven't retrieved the item yet. What's the rush?"

Cole Lyon looked up in surprise. "But wasn't it already taken...?"

Jared, standing beside Tina, extended his hand and pointed. "Tina was referring to what's still here."

Following Jared's direction, Cole Lyon froze. "Serena, this door only allows one chance to fail. What if we-"

"Blow it open."

Tina's words were light yet decisive.

If Orion Woodwind had died protecting this secret, its security level was likely far beyond that of the lock before them.

She guessed that even if they blew the door open, the contents inside would remain intact. Something Claudia coveted this much had to be connected to what she had just taken.

With Serena's orders, Cole Lyon had no further objections.

To ensure safety, he evacuated everyone from the building before setting the

explosives.

The moment he pressed the detonator, there was a muffled "boom."

The study was no longer recognizable. The focus of the blast revealed the hidden chamber beneath.

Just as Serena predicted, the chamber was lined with fire-resistant materials, leaving most of its contents unharmed.

Cole Lyon brought over a box covered in dirt and presented it to Tina. "Serena, aside from some gold and silver treasures, this was the only thing in there. But it's strange- the box is completely seamless with no visible opening."

Tina glanced at the dusty box and instructed Courtney to place it in the car.

Now that it was in her hands, no matter how big the secret, it would eventually be revealed.

But one thing still puzzled her.

How had Claudia known she would come to the Swanson family?

Her visit had been decided at the last minute with Jared.

The only party aware of their plans was the Havenhart family, who had provided the

blueprint.

As they left the Swanson family estate, Tina turned to Jared and asked, "Uncle, don't you think this is all too coincidental?"

"We received the blueprint, and Claudia's people immediately followed us."

Jared had also considered this possibility. But he didn't believe the Havenhart family was involved. "The Havenhart family has always kept their distance from external power struggles. Claudia's tricks wouldn't work on them. Besides, the Swanson family still owes the Havenhart family a life debt."

Tina narrowed her eyes. "Then who could it be?"

Her phone suddenly rang. Answering it, she heard Hayden's voice shouting, "Serena, I found it!"

The sound was so loud Jared could hear it clearly.

Tina held the phone away slightly. "Get to the point."

"Serena, I found that old witch's hideout. There are traces of those black-clad assassins,

and at least a dozen corpses..."

Tina frowned. "Cole, take some men and check it out."

With the situation at the Swanson family resolved, Cole Lyon quickly gathered a team

and headed out.
