Chapter 291 The Network is Being Monitored
Just as Landon had managed to calm Ryan down, an officer barged in. "Landon, we've got a problem! Our network's been hacked!"
Landon's face tightened, and he sprinted to the server room, finding his team in chaos, trying to handle the breach.
"They're tearing through our defenses like it's nothing. We need Sabrina, now!" At the mention of Sabrina, Landon quickly dialed her number. "Sabrina, did you mess with our internal network?"
Sabrina laughed on the other end. "Yeah, I was using the Wi-Fi and found some spyware, so I tweaked the program. You guys are too careless. I haven't been gone that long, and your firewall's already been tampered with!"
Landon's expression grew serious. He glanced back at the server room, then stepped out into the hallway. He was about to speak when he noticed the security camera and hurried to Kelvin Fields' office.
"What else did you find?" Landon asked.
"There's definitely something wrong, Landon. Your network cables have been compromised!" Kelvin replied.
Landon gripped his phone tightly, staring at Kelvin, who looked confused. "Pack up
your computer. I'll have someone pick you up. If anyone asks, just say you have visitors at home."
Hearing Sabrina agree, Landon called for a security officer. "Rick, go bring Sabrina here. She has visitors at home."
Rick Lawson nodded and left quickly. Landon turned back to Kelvin. "Kelvin, our network's been compromised. Sabrina found spyware in it. I've asked her to come over. We need to keep this under wraps for now," Landon explained.
"What? Everything was fine before. How did this happen so suddenly?" Kelvin asked.
Landon thought for a moment. "It must be the network in the residential area. Our main server is secure; no ordinary person could break in. But we overlooked the residential network," he said.
Kelvin took a deep breath. The enemy was always cunning, and to operate so freely within the SWAT team without being noticed meant there was a mole.
"Let's wait for Sabrina to get here and investigate thoroughly. If this is true, Landon, this is a major incident!" Kelvin said.
Landon knew exactly what this meant, and his mood was heavy.
Sabrina showed up in bunny-hooded pajamas, drawing a smile from Kelvin.
"Sabrina, what's with the outfit?" Kelvin asked, amused.
"I'm just here for a bit. This is warm and I like it. It's cute!" Sabrina replied. The sight of Sabrina in her cute outfit lightened Landon's mood for a moment.
"Show Kelvin what you found," Landon said.
Sabrina nodded, opened her laptop, and quickly brought up the hidden program. "This program is very discreet. You wouldn't notice it unless you looked closely. I downloaded some random files from it. Let me play them for you," Sabrina explained.
Soon, the computer played various conversations, different people at different times. It meant that any phone or internet call made in the residential area was automatically recorded and saved.noveldrama
Kelvin broke into a cold sweat. "This is serious, Landon. We need to find this person!"
"Kelvin, we need to find them, but we can't alert them. I have an idea. Let Sabrina identify the person, we'll interrogate them secretly, and then have Sabrina take over the program to find the mastermind," Landon suggested.
Kelvin agreed immediately. "Alright, handle it. If you face any obstacles, call me directly."
Landon nodded and looked at Sabrina. "Can you track them without raising any flags?"
Sabrina nodded. "Sure can!" she replied.
Her fingers flew over the keyboard, and soon she was done.
"I've found the person. They're in this building. I marked their computer with a pink
lollipop in the bottom right corner," Sabrina said.
Landon nodded and had Sabrina stay in the office while he and his team searched the building.
Sabrina, meanwhile, curiously watched from the window.
"Sabrina, interested in joining the police force?" Kelvin asked, smiling.
Sabrina turned to Kelvin and shook her head decisively. "No way. I'm still in college,
and my family wouldn't agree to me becoming a cop. Kelvin, I'm only seventeen, not even an adult yet!" Sabrina said.
Kelvin sighed. Sabrina had so much potential!
But seeing how much Landon cared for her, she might end up as a cop's spouse, which was almost like being half a cop. Kelvin's mood brightened at the thought.

Landon's search was thorough, covering every corner of the office building. When he reached the server room, he showed no emotion as he entered. "It's fine. Sabrina was modifying the firewall, which triggered our internal network. It'll be done in half an hour. Everyone can take a break; it's late. Except for those on duty, the rest can go home," Landon announced.
Landon's explanation didn't raise any suspicions. Sabrina had done similar things before, and her work was always impeccable, so everyone admired her.
"Hey Landon, don't forget to have Sabrina teach us the firewall program tomorrow. We don't want to lock ourselves out!" someone called out.
Landon nodded. "Don't worry, we won't," he replied.
People gradually left, leaving two on duty. Landon glanced at them, then at Rick.
Rick understood and took the two on duty to move some things. Landon began inspecting each computer until he found the lollipop.
Nick Dobbins? It was his computer?
Landon couldn't believe it. Nick was older than him and had been a cop for over a decade. How could it be?
He checked the other computers and found another lollipop on Bill Fields' computer. After checking all the computers, only these two had the lollipop. Landon stood at the server room door, feeling conflicted. Just then, footsteps echoed in the hallway. Someone was approaching. Landon watched the corridor, his eyes sharp but quickly masking his expression.
"Landon, you're still here?" Nick asked.
Landon nodded. "Just covering for the guys moving stuff. Thought you'd left for the day, Nick. Something bring you back?"
What do you think?
