The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2395

Frank was perplexed. "A brain chip? Isn't that stuff just science fiction?"

Moreover, he did not get that feeling whenever he was with Monte, not to mention that the kid had his own opinions on things. There was no sign that he was brainwashed, so what...?

Moxxi shook her head. "I knew you wouldn't believe me, and I doubted it too when I first met him, but he's strange, and that's a fact. You can ask the others if you like."

Frank nodded, finding interest in the matter.

Was he actually wrong, and that Monte would actually prove to be a threat?

Even as the thought crossed his mind, Jouri strode in with a smile. "What's wrong, noveldrama

Mr. Frankton? Are you actually frustrated? That's unlike you."

Frank smiled in wry amusement. "Do I look frustrated? This whole thing is peanuts."

Jouri nodded. "Anyway, I've investigated Heracles Group, and my advice is to hold back for now! Naturally, I'm not saying that you'd lose, but it's just that there's a difference when it comes to spiritron veins.

"In over the five thousand years worth of human history, the spiritron veins have existed as fonts of spiritual energies and are exceedingly rare-but that still means there are others. A man like you, who is unmatched in wit and strength, would definitely win against them, but the problem is that you can't leave Shagan. Even if we work alongside your people to take them down, there's still a chance of them escaping without you holding the line."

Frank nodded—Jouri was right about that. Winning was easy, but rooting them out would be difficult.

As such, the best idea for now was to hold back and wait until they got antsy and came to Frank instead, so that they could wipe them out in a single stroke. After all, it was mind, not might, that won wars.

Sighing, Frank then asked, "Is there something else?"

"Come on, don't chase me off so soon!" Jouri groaned. "No, I insist on staying! Also, this is serious-remember when I asked you to treat a certain patient?"

Frank seemed to remember that, but it was when they had first met.

And she was only mentioning it again now?

"Whatever. Let's go see him."

Still, Frank sighed he had nothing to do while his people were investigating Heracles Group, and he did not mind helping Jouri.

"Okay!" Jouri chirped, and they left town, heading to the villa that Sally York used to own.

"We bought it after you defeated Sally." Jouri shrugged. "We're using it as a base of operations, though it's different today. He's here, so we had to let him have it... I think yo@get it."

Frank chuckled. "I'm surprised you have such discipline, Ms. Yelin. It's not surprising that you're assigned such authority despite your youth-consider me impressed."

Jouri rolled her eyes. "It's all just cheap tricks that would never measure up to you."

They continued their lively small talk as they headed into the villa, where Frank found a man in his fifties sitting in the living room.

He appeared scrawny and had liver spots all over his face, which hardly befitted his age. On top of that, he was losing hair fast, while his dark, dried, and cracked skin made him appear no different from a dried corpse.

Seeing Frank, he smiled. "So you're the famous Mr. Lawrence?"

Frank frowned. "Sorry, but my last name is Frankton!"

The geezer simply laughed. "Oh, you don't have to pretend with me. There's no one else here... that said, I'm basically the one who got you into getting that pseudonym. Also, you wouldn't know, but I'm really bad at fabricating stories-it really took me considerable effort to make your file appear flawless."

Frank raised a brow, slightly surprised.

Forget knowing his true identity-this geezer was actually helping him keep it a

secret and without him knowing?

Interesting!

"Sit!" The geezer gestured at the couch. "Don't worry, I'm not an enemy, or I'd have exposed you already."

Frank sat opposite him and glanced at Jouri.
