Chapter 892
Chapter 892:
Allison’s brow furrowed, her mind racing. Could Kellan have triggered something by mistake on his way out? But there was no time for speculation. The crimson beams were relentless, slicing through anything in motion with surgical precision.
Chaos erupted as the men in black scrambled to evade the deadly lasers while dragging the test subjects to safety. But not everyone was so fortunate. With a sickening hum, one man was caught in the path of a beam, his body cleaved in two.
The air grew thick with the metallic stench of blood, and the ominous red light cast the lab in a hellish glow. Lena’s voice trembled, her fear palpable. “How could this happen?”
She grabbed one of the men in black, her grip like a vice. “Why hasn’t Mr. Shaw returned? Didn’t you notify him?” Panic surged through her as the realization hit her like a freight train — there was no signal here. Contacting Verruckt was impossible.
Amid the chaotic dance of laser beams, Lena’s entire body quaked like a leaf in a storm.
No! This couldn’t be her end — not here, not like this.
Panic gripped her, and she bolted wildly, her erratic movements pulling the crimson beams in her wake. The merciless lasers pursued her, weaving a deadly web that ensnared not only Lena but also pulled Allison into the heart of the chaos.
“If you want to live, don’t move an inch!” Allison shouted, her voice cutting through the pandemonium.
“You’re mad! If I stand still, I’ll be sliced to ribbons!” Lena cried, her eyes wide with terror. She had tolerated Allison for too long, and now, she refused to heed her orders. As she spoke, she made a move to escape, but before she could act, she saw Allison grab a chair and hurl it into the corner.
Bang!
The lasers instantly locked onto it, slicing the chair into neat halves with ruthless precision.
Seizing the moment, Allison darted behind a sturdy table, using it as a shield.
With no movement to target, the lasers paused, hanging eerily still in the air.noveldrama
Lena stared at Allison, disbelief etched across her face. “How… how did you do that?”
Gone was the timid, pliable girl she had underestimated. The calm precision and razor-sharp instincts Allison displayed were proof of a truth Lena could no longer deny: this woman was anything but ordinary.
Allison was too focused on the task at hand to pay attention to Lena. Instead, she motioned toward the table behind her. “I’m counting down from five. After that, I’m tossing this table. When I do, you all need to run with the test subjects. Understand?”
“Got it!” they shouted in unison.
Lena struggled to keep up with the situation. “But what about you…?”
Before she could finish, Allison had already started counting.
She had already moved to her hiding spot in the corner. “Five, four, three, two, one!”
