The moment the last word left her lips, Allison grabbed the table and hurled it at the laser equipment with a force that seemed beyond her.

Her expression darkened. “What are you doing?” she barked. “Who said you could ignore orders from a senior researcher?!”

The laboratory operated under a rigid chain of command, and on the second basement level, the researchers held the highest authority. But Lena didn’t realize she was giving orders to impostors.

The so-called security personnel were actually Kellan’s men in disguise. Their real concern wasn’t just moving the test subjects — they were more focused on Allison’s escape.
